Our Story

ANDRÉ FERRAN Established 1989

In the shadow of the Vosges mountains, where French tradition meets quiet determination, André Ferran founded his atelier with little more than a worn sewing machine inherited from his grandfather and an uncompromising vision: to create menswear that honored the man wearing it.

The year was 1989. While the world celebrated the fall of barriers, André was building something meant to endure. In a modest workshop in Lyon's Croix-Rousse district—the historic heart of French silk weaving—he began cutting cloth with the precision of a craftsman who understood that every stitch carried a promise.

André learned his trade the old way. At fifteen, he apprenticed under maître tailleur Henri Valois, spending years mastering the art of the perfect shoulder line, the drape of wool across the body, the almost imperceptible details that separate true tailoring from mere clothing. He believed that a well-made garment didn't just fit a man's body—it fit his life, his ambitions, his quiet moments of confidence.

What began as a small atelier has grown into a global maison, now guided by André's daughter Céline and son Thomas, who brought the family vision to the world while preserving its soul. They still source fabrics from the same Italian mills their father discovered on his first buying trip to Como. They still insist on hand-finished buttonholes. They still believe that quality whispers while trends shout.

Today, André Ferran garments are worn from Paris to Sydney, New York to Tokyo. But every piece—whether a structured blazer, a crisp Oxford shirt, or a perfectly weighted overcoat—still carries the essence of that original workshop: the belief that men deserve clothing made with care, designed to last, and created with respect for both tradition and the lives being lived in them.

Family owned. French crafted. Timeless by design.
